Silsila --A stroy story of Amitabh Bachan and Rekha

Silsila is the best ever movie of Amitabh Bachan , produced in 1981 in Bollywood and film directed by Yash Chopra. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Jaya Bhaduri, Sanjeev Kumar and Rekha. Film critique maintained that the film is said to be purely based on Amitabh Bachchan's personal life as in late 70's and early 80's, the hot romance between Amitabh Bachchan and celebrated Rekha was the most talked about news from Indian film industry.

The film is based on a story two brothers, who were orphaned at very young ages, Shekhar and Amit Malhotra are survivors and lead independent lives with Shekhar ( Shahshi Kapoor) being a Squadron Leader with the Indian Air Force, and Amit ( Amitabh Bachan) a struggling writer. While Shekhar has fallen in love with lovely Shobha( Jiya Bachan), Amit woos an attractive Chandni( Rekha). Both brothers plan to marry together. But fate has something much worse in store for them when Shekhar is killed in a plane crash, leaving behind a pregnant and devastated Shobha. Taking pity on Shobha's plight, Amit marries her and writes to Chandni to forget him. This news breaks Chandni's heart, and she goes on to marry Dr. V.K. Anand( Sanjeev Kamar), who is very much in love with her.After unwilling marriage of Amitabh Bachan with Shobha ( Jiya) tragedy strikes once more, and Shobha loses her child in a car accident. With no child to tie them together, both drift apart, Amit meets Chandni and they secretly rekindle their romance. They meet on the sly, until one day when Chandni accidentally hits a passerby.

A police Inspector( Cousin brother Shobha ) get involved, but Amit manages to hush the matter up. But their secret meetings will no longer be secret anymore for the Police Inspector in charge of this accident is none other than Shobha's cousin, Kulbhushan, and he is determined to expose Amit's affair with Chandni. There are other instances also expose Amit's affair with Chandni.The heart broken Dr Anand can not expect that his wife was involved in love with Amitabh. He was also doctor of Shobha , who lost her baby before birth in car accident.

She used to visit regularly to Dr Anand . Where Dr Anand, indirectly asked Shobah to fight for her rights as wife of Amit. But love birds, Rekha and Amit left the home to Simla to live with a Sikh Friend where he scolded them, not to spoil houses of both of them. Here Rekha ( Chandni) heard the news of plane crash , in which Dr Anand was boarding in. Both Amit and Chandini rushed to the scene of crash, where his wife Shobha also reached . Here Shobha disclosed that she is pregnant and if something wrong happened to Amit . no other person would come to share grief and take care her child . This is the turning point of the movie, Amitbah, managed to secure Dr Aanand safe release from the burning plane, he took her wife Shobha back to home.
